GOL is very close to release,
just sorting out packaging options, more news soon!
January 14th 2007
At last reports, Geometry of
Loss CD1 is on the way back from Endezeit mastering, an untold
relief! CD2 is also complete (excluding possible inclusion of
entries from our current Contra-Diction
remix competition) We have quite a few entries submitted already
and it is incredible the breadth and generosity of our fellow
artists. So now, in reality, it is all a case of amassing funds
to get the discs pressed and packaged. The year has come!
December 25th 2006
Geometry of Loss CD1 has been
sent to Endezeit mastering house in Germany. Early next year the
time will come!
October

Time
flows faster than discontent. No concerts organised at the moment,
we are trying desperately to have the new CD ready by December
this year. It is time to tie this album up. Geometry of Loss will
be released through our community projects, DEMUS
(dark electronic music underground) and Dark
Stereo (dark electronic underground music
store). At this point we consider that the album with be a Dark
Stereo exclusive. Stay in contact, only a matter of months left.

Welcome
to the new incarnation of mystraltide.com. With the release of
our first disc in 4 years pending, the design has been altered
to reflect where we are at, and where things appear to be heading.
"Geometry of Loss" is now confirmed as 2 CD's and is
undergoing mastering, we are proud to announce that Elenor of
The Crystalline Effect and Sobriqet has been adding some lovely
vocal touches. Work on a side release is also commencing, this
time a dark classical production, closer to our doom and melodic
roots... before the industrial revolution distracted us from the
more progressive musical inspirations. We have also joined the
axis of evil consumerism and egotistical self-interest at myspace

Melbourne! This city is such a great creative catalyst.
Even though the "scene" is in a bit of a trough, it
has been great to meet so many artists who support each other
and perform for the hell of it. The venues here are very open
to letting underground music into their realms. Speaking of
concerts, check the events section for a big shindig at Dream
coming up in May. Geometry
of Loss is being mixed down, track by track! There are still
vocals to be laid down, but a release date during this year
is looking feasible. Not like it really matters after taking
so long to produce a follow up to Whirlpool of Souls. Once GOL
is done, we are planning on a purely classical mini-release,
and more TikTokTek.
January 17th 2006
A
new side project! TikTokTek
teams up the established and powerful vocals of Zamir (Electrokore)
with the digital meanderings of Mystral Tide. TikTokTek will be
performing in combination with MT on 2nd March 2006 at Digital
Corruption in Melbourne. TikTokTek will be remixing some of the
Geometry of Loss material, as well as recording and performing
new works.

Happy
New Year! Been a while since any news... too many gigs! Alas GOL
didn't make it out in 2005, fingers crossed for 2006. Possible
band lineup additions coming soon. Our live performances have
now evolved to include digital data projection of visual VJ chaos...
just in case one person on stage is becoming a little too routine.
Project info is available at http://www.tidalportal.com/vjtidal
October 8th 2005
Lots of exciting news! Firstly
we are proud to have been invited to be part of Melbourne experimental
act Fractyl! Two gigs coming up with Mystral Tide, Bastich and
Fractyl during November in Melbourne. It has been a long time
since we performed on stage other musicians, so this will be a
great chance to let loose and enjoy... opposed to the stifling
studio time which has been doing my head in. Geometry of Loss
is still a fair way off, no rushing equals no disappointments.
If you want to hear how the album is developing, then come to
a gig!
September 9th 2005
Huge
thanks goes out to everyone who participated in the DEMUS Live
Nite on the 12th August, particularly Ben from Cassandra's Myth,
Duncan of Bastich, Brian the DJ who had little warning, and Hugh
who kept the whole event possible through technical knowledge,
and an insane amount of energy! We are also very appreciative
of the support of Peter, Digitalis Effect, and The Crystalline
Effect for having us along on the 26th August at Dream in Melbourne.
There are more gigs coming up... check
the concerts section for information on Mystral Tide live in Melbourne
20th November 2005 at Glitch. Also more thanks to Gordon
Taylor for the radio interview on Infectious
Unease Radio
June 19th 2005
Check
the concerts section for information on Mystral Tide live in Melbourne
12th August 2005.
May 17th 2005
Sincere
thanks to Gordon Taylor for his support of Mystral Tide tonight
on Infectious Unease
Radio Melbourne! Other good news includes that we now own
mystraltide.com again, and have a few surprises in store...
March 27th 2005
The
remaining parts of the studio have finally arrived at our new
home in Melbourne, making the recording of new material once again
possible!
DEMUS
a new dark electronic music resource, has been established by
the project to act as an artist platform for exposure and industry
information. In the near future DEMUS will act as a distribution
mechanism for underground artists. We welcome all artists and
followers of dark electro to join the site and play a part in
building a friendly and pro-active community.
February 5th 2005
2004 was a sad year.
The post digital recording-age boom has affected many friends,
leaving a strong sense of loss and apathy. We have decided to
fight on, and fire up the equipment once more to fulfill the promise
of Geometry of Loss, now extending into 3 years of construction.
We are now located in Melbourne. Sadly, Zed Recs, the label responsible
for the release of Whirlpool of Souls is no more. Perhaps the
label will return, but until such a time we will be producing
discs in house. We are currently seeking live event opportunities
in Melbourne and South Australia. A three track EP disc is rumored.
Side project Trucido is also rumored to be returning to the recording
world shortly.
July 30th 2004
Mystraltide.com is no more. As a result
of Yahoo Domains technical faults we have moved the entire suite
of projects (including Mystral Tide) to www.tidalportal.com
February 17th 2004
Despite some technical upsets now rectified,
GOL sessions continue in earnest. Work on CD2 has begun, containing
the harder material for fans who may be taken unaware by the cold
ambient nature of CD1. No live events are currently scheduled
due to financial limitations, and the project is making a concerted
effort to release the new material before the end of 2004.
We want to thank people for the emails about GOL progress, as
it has been over two years since the last release. GOL is taking
time, A LOT of time, as tracks are being prepared for external
engineering and final mixing. The whole process has become far
more involved than WOS ever could have been. The 64 track sequencer
is filling rapidly, and we're constantly pushing the computers
to the limit...
January 7th 2004
Sincere thanks to Shane and Beck at
http://www.djinnsphere.com
for their support.
